Private and Alternative Investments Group
The Real Estate Investments team is part of the Private & Alternative Investments Group (PAIG) led by Sam Davis. PAIG manages over $19 billion of assets (As of 12/31/12) consisting of private placement debt, project finance, private equity, real estate and other real assets such as infrastructure, energy and timber investments.

Real Estate Investment Group
Allstate’s Real Estate Investment Group (REIG) is led by Mike Moran. REIG manages over $9 billion of assets (As of 12/31/12) for Allstate’s various lines of insurance and financial products and pension fund. Allstate holds investments in two primary areas of commercial real estate: Commercial Mortgages and Real Estate Equity.

Commercial Mortgages
Allstate is one of the country’s most respected commercial mortgage portfolio lenders. Our approximate $6.6 billion portfolio (as of 12/31/12) was originated and is serviced through a long-standing mortgage banking/correspondent network. Our origination program focuses on 5 to 10 year permanent financing on stabilized commercial and multifamily properties. We also have shorter term floating rate money available as well as longer term fixed rate financing (> 10 years).

Real Estate Equity
Allstate is among the most experienced investors in Equity Real Estate having been an investor in Funds, REIT’s and Joint Ventures since the early 1990’s. The timing of those investments and subsequent investment programs has resulted in attractive returns over a 20-year period. Our current strategy revolves around expanding our $3 Billion+ Real Estate Equity platform to take advantage of the current market environment by diversifying our portfolio by strategy as well as investing in real estate sectors that present attractive investment opportunities. Our focus is expanding our real estate fund portfolio and Direct Investments, which include Co-Investments, Joint Ventures and Separate Accounts, in U.S. domestic markets.
